Grief Counselling Toronto
What is grief?
Grief is a natural response to loss. Loss makes people sad, which is a normal reaction. There is no “right” way to grieve or a specific timeline for grieving. Many people slowly adjust, but sometimes grieving can be too much, last too long, or be too confusing, and you may require more specialist help.
Grief can come in many forms, including strong waves of sadness, longing, anger, guilt, or numbness. It can show up in different ways, such as:
- Unwanted thoughts and “what ifs”: going over things in your head or wishing you had done things differently.
 - Physical symptoms: tight chest, upset stomach, tiredness, headaches, or changes in sleep

Grief also changes other elements of daily life, like:
- Relationships: you can pull away from family or friends or argue with them over how to grieve.
 - Work/School: problems concentrating, loss of productivity, or burnout.
 - Quality of life: feeling stuck, alone, or not knowing how to keep going.

The good news is you can honour your loss and get better. Being sad doesn’t mean forgetting. You may carry your love and your life at the same time if you have the correct help. After a loss, you can regain steadier routines, connection, and meaning through grief bereavement counselling in Toronto.
